Judging by the photos, this used to be a TJ, and its roll cage (which I believe Jeep won’t call a roll cage for liability reasons) held up amazingly well. The front part of the cage is removable to allow the windshield to be dropped, and I’d never want to rely on it at all, much less to this extreme.

Best wishes to the injured couple. Quite an awful accident.

So what you’re saying is you’ve found Tracy’s next Moab ride?

As the owner of a TJ, I never want to wreck in it. Not that you want to in any vehicle, but some  less than others.

Yeah, mine is particularly risky right now: airbag control module was removed a couple of years ago because it was apparently causing CANBUS problems, and I drive the summer without my front sport bars so I can easily drop the windshield.

I’ve been planning on installing an aftermarket front cage. Probably next year.

There were two possible roads I was expecting when I opened the article. They’re lucky it was this one.

Considering the jackasses driving around Indy, I would strongly advice to have the cage asap :|

I was thinking the same thing. “Telluride... rolled 450 feet down...” still, yikes.
